Wax Melt Safety & Use Guidelines

Wax melts are a wonderful way to bring fragrance into your home. For your safety and the protection of your property, please follow all guidelines below. Failure to follow instructions may result in fire, injury, or damage.

🔥 FIRE & HEAT SAFETY

  • Never leave a wax melt warmer unattended.
  • Always keep warmers away from flammable objects, including curtains, paper, bedding, and décor.
  • Only use your wax melts in approved wax warmers designed for this purpose.
  • Keep warmers on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from edges and high-traffic areas.
  • Do not operate warmers near water, sinks, or damp surfaces.
  • Always follow manufacturer instructions for your wax warmer and discontinue use if excessive smoking, charring, or irritation occurs.
  • Due to the natural variation of dried botanicals, appearance may vary by batch. Botanicals may darken, sink, or release fragrance more quickly when warmed. This is a normal characteristic of natural materials.
  • Do not add water to wax melts

🕯️ TEA-LIGHT WARMER CAUTIONS

  • Use unscented tea lights only.
  • Never use tall candles or multi-wick candles—they can overheat the warmer.
  • Extinguish the tea light immediately once the wax has fully melted or the dish is empty.

🔌 ELECTRIC WARMER CAUTIONS

  • Use only with properly functioning, UL-listed electric warmers.
  • Do not use extension cords or overloaded outlets.
  • Unplug the warmer before adding or removing wax, cleaning, or moving.

🔥 HOT WAX WARNING

  • Melted wax becomes extremely hot.
  • Do not touch, move, or attempt to pour hot wax—this can cause severe burns.
  • Never add liquids, essential oils, or fragrance oils to hot wax.
  • Do not mix multiple wax types unless the product states it is safe to do so.

🌬️ FRAGRANCE & VENTILATION

  • Always use in a well-ventilated room.
  • Discontinue use if you experience headaches, dizziness, breathing discomfort, or irritation.
  • Do not use around individuals with sensitivities to fragrance.
  • Individual sensitivities vary. If you are sensitive to fragrance or botanicals, we recommend limiting warm time or choosing lighter blends.
  • Botanical wax melts are intended for home fragrance and decorative use only.

🚫 INGESTION & MISUSE WARNING

  • Wax melts are not edible.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times.
  • Do not apply melted wax to skin, hair, or fabrics.
  • Do not use wax melts as a cosmetic, massage oil, or skincare ingredient.

🐾 PET SAFETY WARNING

Certain fragrances and essential oils can be harmful or toxic to pets, especially cats, birds, and dogs. To protect pets:

  • Some essential oil–based fragrances may be unsafe for pets, especially:

Cats: eucalyptus oil, citrus oils, pine, tea tree oil, peppermint oil

Birds: highly sensitive to essential oil vapors of any kind

Dogs: clove oil, cinnamon oil, and strong aromatic oils

  • Use warmers in well-ventilated areas only.
  • Do not allow pets to inhale concentrated fragrance vapor.
  • Prevent pets from touching or ingesting cooled or melted wax.
  • If your pet shows signs of distress (drooling, vomiting, breathing issues, lethargy), discontinue use and contact your veterinarian.
  • See the "Pet Safety" page for additional information.
  • While many customers choose botanical wax melts for pet-aware households, no scented product can be guaranteed safe for every animal. Always use with ventilation and observe pets during use.

🧼 CLEANING & DISPOSAL

  • Turn off and allow wax to cool completely before removal.
  • Do not pour melted wax down drains or toilets.
  • Dispose of cooled wax in household trash.
  • Clean warmer dishes only when cooled, using a soft cloth.

⚠️ DO NOT USE IF:

  • Your warmer is cracked, chipped, or malfunctioning.
  • The cord is damaged or frayed.
  • You cannot supervise the warmer continuously.
  • You have individuals or pets in the home with fragrance-triggered health conditions.
  • Individual sensitivities vary. If you are sensitive to fragrance or botanicals, we recommend limiting warm time or choosing lighter blends.

Botanical wax melt products are not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.  Botanical wax melts are for home fragrance use only.
