Candles create warmth and comfort, but they also involve an open flame. Improper use may result in fire, injury, or property damage. Please read and follow all safety guidelines.
🔥 GENERAL FIRE SAFETY
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep candles away from flammable items such as curtains, bedding, books, décor, and plants.
- Only burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep candles out of drafts, ceiling fans, and high-traffic areas.
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn to prevent soot and overheating.
- Extinguish candles before they burn all the way down. Leave at least ½ inch of wax at the bottom.
👶 CHILD & PET SAFETY
- Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets at all times.
- Do not place candles near edges, ledges, or areas where pets can knock them over.
- Some fragrances and essential oils may be harmful to pets. Use candles only in well-ventilated areas and discontinue use if pets show any signs of sensitivity.
🕯️ SAFE BURNING PRACTICES
- Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer melts during the first burn (usually 2–4 hours) to avoid tunneling.
- Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Keep the wax pool clear of matches, wick trimmings, or debris.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle—it may cause hot wax to splatter.
- Use a candle snuffer or gently blow out the flame.
🔥 CONTAINER & WAX SAFETY
- Jar and tin candles become very hot during use—handle only when fully cooled.
- Stop using the candle if the container is cracked, chipped, or damaged.
- Do not burn candles on uneven, soft, or unstable surfaces.
- Never burn candles all the way down to the bottom, as containers may overheat or break.
🌬️ VENTILATION & FRAGRANCE SENSITIVITY
- Always burn candles in a well-ventilated space.
- Avoid burning multiple strong-scented candles in small or enclosed rooms.
- Discontinue use if you experience headaches, nausea, irritation, or breathing discomfort.
🏡 ROOM PLACEMENT
Do not burn candles:
- Near windows with blowing curtains
- In bedrooms while sleeping
- On shelves directly beneath cabinets or wood
- In bathrooms without supervision
- Near decorations, wall hangings, or holiday greenery
🚫 MISUSE WARNINGS
- Do not move a candle while lit or while wax is hot.
- Do not use candles as a night-light.
- Do not add fragrance oils, essential oils, herbs, or other materials to the wax.
- Do not use candles for heating, cooking, or any purpose other than intended.
🐾 PET SAFETY
- Some essential oil–based fragrances may be unsafe for pets, especially:
Cats: eucalyptus oil, citrus oils, pine, tea tree oil, peppermint oil
Birds: highly sensitive to essential oil vapors of any kind
Dogs: clove oil, cinnamon oil, and strong aromatic oils
- If your pet shows signs of distress (drooling, vomiting, breathing issues, lethargy), discontinue use and contact your veterinarian.
- See the "Pet Safety" page for additional information.
🧼 AFTER-USE CARE
- Allow the candle to cool completely before touching or moving it.
- Store unused candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep lids on jar candles when not in use to preserve fragrance.
Use at your own risk.
